This spool has a a ton of notches, hook keeps, and magnets to accommodate however you want to store your line, on the rod or off, wound from either direction, hook on or off. The design allows the foam inside to be seen from all angles helping to keep it visible when you inevitable set it some where, or letting you color code by line type, length, etc. if that's your thing.
